Supersonic airplane
“Supersonic” is a speed faster than the speed of sound. While most fighter aircraft achieve supersonic speeds, only two passenger aircraft have done so: the Concorde and the Russian Tupolev Tu-144. Early terminology for achieving supersonic flight was to break the sound barrier, a term that came into play during World War II.
