Judy Garland's performance in The Wizard of Oz provided her with a lifetime theme song: Over the Rainbow. That role was one of many in her career, cut short at the age of 47 following an overdose of sleeping pills. She starred with Mickey Rooney in the Andy Hardy series, as well as in such musicals as Meet Me in St. Louis, The Pirate, and Easter Parade. Garland also is credited with popularizing such songs as You Made Me Love You, For Me and My Gal, I Got Rhythm, Embraceable You, and Look for the Silver Lining.
