Grace Kelly was born in Philadelphia and began her theater career in Strindberg's The Father and made her film debut in 1951 in Fourteen Hours. Her other films included High Noon, 1952; Mogambo, 1953; Dial M for Murder, 1954; Rear Window, 1954, To Catch a Thief, 1955; and High Society, 1956. Known for her classic beauty and charm, she held the American public spellbound -- enchanting the world -- when she decided to leave the glamorous lifestyle of Hollywood and marry His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III of Monaco on April 18, 1956. Following her marriage, she was active in the International League of the Red Cross and served as President of Honor for the World Association of the Children's Fund and for the Monaco Girl Guide Association.
