"Bwana Devil," released in 1952, was the first color stereoscopic film, began the Golden Era of 3-D films that continued through 1955. The film was produced with the use of dual-strip with Polaroid filters. The concept of stereoscopic motion pictures dates back to the late 1890s. The first film audience to pay to see a 3-D presentation watched "The Power of Love" at the Ambassador Hotel Theater in Los Angeles on September 27, 1922.
