Clark Gable is considered the "all-time number one film star." Of all his film roles, including his Oscar-winning performance in It Happened One Night, Gable is best known for that of Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind. Among his other major films were Call of the Wild, Mutiny on the Bounty, and The Hucksters. Before beginning his film career, he worked with a small touring group in the West and Northwest. Vivien Leigh won an Oscar for her performance of Scarlet O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. She also won an Oscar for her role of Blanche du Bois in A Streetcar Named Desire in 1952. Much of her professional work was performed on the London stage, including starring in Antigone in 1949.
