Since its first year of inception in 1974, with membership numbers just topping 100,000, U.S. Youth Soccer has grown to largest youth sports organization in the United States, counting more than 3.2 million members ages 5-19 or 85 percent of all registered players in the United States. U.S. Youth Soccer provides a democratic structure to provide uniform rules and guidelines to its membership which comprises 55 member State Associations, 500,000 volunteers and administrators and 300,000 coaches, most of which are also volunteers.
