Badger
Badgers are part of a family of carnivores that includes skunks, weasels, and wolverines. The badger has a broad, flat body, a small head, and short, heavy-clawed legs. It burrows rapidly and fights fiercely. Its body may be up to 30-inches (76 cm) long and weighing up to 25 pounds (11 kg). All badgers have scent glands that give off offensive odors. Its fur has been used for making brushes and as trim for coats and jackets. Most badgers are ground dwellers and eat gophers, mice, ground squirrels, and other small animals.
