This is a reprint of rare inverted version of the 2-cent stamp issued in 1901. This stamp shows an example of fast rail transportation, the "Empire State Express." The four-car train is drawn by a four-drive locomotive. Four parallel tracks are also shown. The Pan-American Issue commemorated the Pan-American Exposition at Buffalo, New York. Purpose of the exposition was to promote friendly relations among all the countries of the New World. Designs of the stamps illustrate great engineering achievements of the time.
