Ben Pickett is the brother of Bill Pickett, who is featured on the Legends of the West sheetlet. In the original printing of the sheetlet, Ben's likeness was accidentally used instead of Bill's. The incorrect sheetlets never were issued formally as postage, although some 183 copies were sold prematurely. Following the release of the corrected sheetlet, the initial version was sold via lottery. Only 150,000 copies were made available through the lottery, from the original printing of about 1.3 million.
