Nine individual stars and the famed Keystone Cops of the silent film era were honored on a set of 10 stamps issued in a booklet pane. Designs for this set of stamps were drawn by the legendary New York artist Al Hirschfeld, who has spent seven decades documenting the entertainment world through his renderings of key players in Hollywood and on Broadway. Hirschfeld also has kept millions of people mesmerized by a riddle that he weaves into each of his drawings.

Hidden among the lines of each Hirschfeld picture is the name "NINA." The artist has been adding this extra twist to his art since 1945, when his daughter Nina was born. The number of NINAs concealed in each picture is shown by a numeral to the right of Hirschfeld's signature. Generally, if no number is to be found, either NINA appears once or the drawing was executed before she was born. On this set of stamps, the collector has a more difficult task in guessing the number of NINAs. Many of the 10 stamps of the set feature NINAs, but Hirschfeld's signature does not appear on any of the stamps; therefore, neither do clues to the number of NINAs.
