Soil can be affected by many types of pollution: biological and chemical waste, acid rain, and more. Pollutants removed from waste flows to reduce emissions to air and water may be disposed of by burial or storage on land. Such practices pose potential hazards. The anti-pollution method of changing a manufacturing process or an activity to produce less pollution may involve the production of fewer residual pollutants or the separation and reuse of materials from the waste stream. Both results of the anti-pollution method lessen the potential of soil pollution.
