commemoration, similar type stamps for air mail service were far more generic
in design and without specific commemoration.

This stamp design, is identical to one issued about two years earlier in blue.
To facilitate the handling of air mail letters, seven-cent air mail stamps
where henceforth printed in a distinct shade of red.
