Children Sledding is adapted from an antique original postcard in the Happy Days series of Christmas postcards. The original card, chromolithographed on card stock and embossed, was published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Ltd., London, printed in Saxony, and postmarked December 23, 1911, from Toledo, Ohio. Tuck & Sons was perhaps the most prolific publishing company of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Begun in 1866 as a modest art and framing shop in London, this thriving business grew into a worldwide publishing empire.
