Commemorative issue Disabled American Veterans & U.S. Servicemen
U.S. Servicemen
One of the ways returning servicemen are thanked is through the G.I. Bill of Rights, the popular name of a group of programs providing educational and economic assistance to veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Educational benefits have proved to be the most popular part of the program. All veterans who have served 90 days or longer and who have been honorably discharged are eligible for educational benefits. The duration of the benefits depends on the length of service, from one year of full-time education or vocational training for veterans who served 90 days to a maximum of 48 months.
