Often performed on a freelance basis, screenwriting is the craft of preparing scripts for film, television productions, or even video games. Screenwriters do all of the tasks necessary to deliver the screenplay to the proper executive for review: research, preparing the narrative, and delivering in the appropriate format. Screenwriters are able to drive the resulting production. They are able either to pitch their ideas to producers or be commissioned by a producer. Some projects are handle by a single screenwriter, while others are developed by a team.
