This sheet of eight stamps, issued days before the rate for first-class mail went up from 13 cents to 15 cents per ounce, was issued to honor a philatelic exhibition in Toronto. The eight small stamps making up this sheet were (and still are) valid for postage, although they were not used to a great extent. The eight birds and animals depicted are indigenous to the United States -Canadian border.
