Grizzly bear
Grizzly bears are closely related to the Alaska brown bears, the largest of the land carnivores. Grizzly bears will grow to nine-feet (2.8 m) long and weigh 900 pounds (410 kg). Their name comes from the whitish tips of their brown fur. Grizzlies once roamed from Mexico to Alaska, but today are found in only a few national parks in the American West.
