Commemorative issue American Treasures - Amish quilts
Double ninepatch variation
Double ninepatch is a block-work pattern that was popular throughout the United States by the middle of the 19 century but not seen among the Amish until much later. The beautiful jewel-tone wool fabrics are typical of Amish quilts of Lancaster County, PA, as is the precise, elaborate stitching found on quilts of this region.
