Hungarian-born Bela Lugosi is well-remembered for his role as Count Dracula in both the stage play and film. The stage play was successful, running 261 performances before beginning a tour.  His success with the role, where he used his heavily-accented voice, set Lugosi up to be typecast in Hollywood as a horror villain. His accent limited the roles he was offered.
