Boston’s Fenway Park opened in 1912 and continues as the oldest major league baseball stadium currently in use. Located in a densely populated area, Fenway has been through many additions and renovations. Home of the Boston Red Sox, every home game since May 15, 2003, through has sold out and a major league record of 456 sellouts was recorded in 2008. By mid-2012, the record stood at 760 and counting. The sellouts are a dramatic turnaround from the 1965 baseball season, when two games the paid attendance was fewer than 500. Fenway Park also has been home to the football Boston Redskins and Boston Patriots, as well as soccer and hockey games and concerts and campaign events.
